Abstract

The article deals with the relevant norms of criminal law and criminal-executive legislation, subordinate legislation in the sphere of the institution of exemption from criminal punishment due to illness. The analysis of the characteristics of exemption from criminal sanctions, and further punishment on three grounds provided for in Art. 81 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, thus revealed some gaps in the legal regulation that allowed the authors to conclude that the need for further improvement of the legal regulation of exemption from criminal punishment due to illness.
